The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it has recorded 838 new Coronavirus infections from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The cases were recorded in the last 24 hours on Sunday, December 27, according to the agency.
Abuja, reported 297 cases, leading the states which recorded new cases. It is followed by Lagos and Plateau states with 253 and 82 cases respectively.
Meanwhile, the agency in its daily update published on its website indicated that 539 persons who made full recovery were discharged on the day in review.
It said the discharges included 225 community recoveries in Lagos State and 160 community recoveries in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines.

Rivers-8, Zamfara-7, Ogun-4, Bauchi-4, Edo-4,

The total number of confirmed cases, the NCDC said, now stands at 84,414 while total discharges stands at 71,034.
The health agency said so far Nigeria has recorded a total of 1,254 deaths, seven of which were reported in the last 24 hours.
