The Group Managing Director, CMC Connect, and recently re-elected African Public Relations Association (APRA) President, Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, has promised automatic employment to the best graduating student of the Department of Mass Communication, Mountain Top University, Ibafo, Ogun State.
He made the promise at the fifth edition of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), History Series, hosted by the university.
Mountain Top University is graduating its first set of students from the Mass Communication Department in another session.
Mr. Badejo-Okusanya, who was the Guest Speaker, told the gathering which included the university’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Elijah Ayolabi, deans, staff, head of the Mass Communication Department and students that, “public relations needs public relations.”
According to a release by Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, General Secretary, ACSPN & Dean, College of Social and Management Sciences (COSOMAS), Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Mr. Badejo-Okusanya is the first guest speaker to offer automatic employment to a student of the host university.

At the event, the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Ayolabi, also set another precedent by anchoring a radio studio interview session of the guests as Presenter.
He equally used the opportunity to showcase the institution’s well equipped training studios.
He also presented souvenirs to all participating members of ACSPN while the Provost, Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Mr. Gbemiga Ogunleye, presented the association’s gifts to the Guest Speaker.
The ACSPN History Series seeks to fill a critical gap in the “fundamentally eroded space of history in Nigeria’s educational system through relieving the experiences of the select team of those who have played key roles in communication, media and journalism history in Nigeria,” the release from ACSPN said.
