The Police has arrested a 46-year-old, Sunday Alexander for allegedly raping and impregnating his 14 year old maid in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The suspect, of Lokoja Street Otukpo, who is a motorcyclist, (okada ridder) was reported to have forcefully had canal knowledge of the girl several times in June, 2020.
Our correspodent gathered that his, (Alexander’s) wife had caught him in the act, in one of his escapades.
A social activist, Mrs. Julie Okoh who reported the case at Otukpo Divisional Police Station, said the suspect was married with five children.
Mrs. Okoh who has taken custody of the victim said that the suspect’s wife confessed that she caught her husband in the act once in the night.

The social activist said, “a neighbour of the victim gave us the information and we traced the house located at Lokoja Street, Otukpo.
“The man, is an Okada ridder (motorcyclist) and has five children, the little one is five months old.
“The wife confirmed that she caught her husband in the act once, sometimes in June this year when she heard hush tones coming out from the room the maid slept. And on getting into the maid’s room and putting on her torch light, she was shocked to find her husband in the act”.
Mrs. Okoh said that the case was being transferred to the command headquarters in Makurdi commended the Divisional Police Officer, Otukpo, Supol Bawa who she said had been showing zero tolerance for rape cases in the area.
The suspect who spoke briefly before he was taken out by the police confirmed that he actually slept with the maid.
According to him, “my name is Sunday Alexander, the girl is 14 year old and she is my maid. It is true that I slept with her.
When contacted, Benue Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Catherine Anene said” I’m yet to receive the report because I have been busy with recruitment”.
