The car belonging to Rtd. Major Gen. Idris Alkali has been found.

According to a tweet by the Nigerian Army on its handle @HQNigerianArmy said the vehicle was found at a pond in Lafendeg Du, Plateau State.

However, the whereabouts of the general remains unknown.

The tweet read: “Joint Task Force constituted by COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai comprising officers & soldiers from 3Div Quick Response Team, Op Safe Haven, @PoliceNG3#VIO @Fedfireng, as well as Local Divers have found the vehicle belonging to Maj Gen Alkali RTD at a pond in Lafendeg Du Plateau State.”

Alkali was declared on September 3, while on his way to Bauchi from Abuja.

Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohammed,Garrison Commander, 3 Division Garrison, Nigeria Army, Rukuba, Jos, who is the commander of the search and rescue operation, said the army was led to the pond after stumbling on some intelligence.

Alkali, was a former Chief of Administration, Army Headquarters, Abuja.
