Former deputy governor of central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Obadiah Mailafiya, has been released, after over 3 hours of interrogation at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Jos, Plateau state.

Mailafia, was at the DSS headquarters to honour an invitation from the service.

The Next Edition gathered that Mailafiya wjo the three headquarters at bout 11a.m, was allowed to go home at about 2: 50 pm, with his supporters waiting to cheer him.

After his release, Mailafia, who addressed newsmen, commended the DSS for their professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He said the DSS exhibited high sense of professionalism in their dealings with him.

Mailafia who said he was not maltreated, harassed or intimated in any guise, urged the DSS to ensure that this would be the last invitation.

He insisted that his comments about a serving Northern governor being a Boko Haram commander had nothing to do with politics, adding “l only spoke as a free citizen of this country and as such, l am the voice of the thousands of the voiceless of the citizens of this country.”
