Macron’s visit: Lagos announces road diversion, movement restriction

The Lagos State government has announced that there will be traffic diversion and movement restriction around Alausa, Afrika Shrine and Agidingbi area of Ikeja on Tuesday.

The order which will be effective from 12 p.m. to 12 midnight comes ahead of the visit of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, to Lagos.

Macron who will be hosted by the Lagos State government will visit the Afrika Shrine in Ikeja.

While announcing the diversion of traffic and restriction of movements,  the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Salaam, advised motorists to make use of alternative routes.

The statement reads in part:  “While we regret the inconvenience that this might cause the public, especially those who live and work in the area, we appeal that you kindly bear with us during this period and make use of the alternative routes provided.”
