A High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday granted Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central, an interim order restraining the Police, Department of Sate Service (DSS) and other law enforcement bodies from arresting him.
Ishaq Bello, was the presiding judge.
Against the backdrop of his alleged involvement in the snatching of the mace of the Senate on Wednesday, he approached the court on Thursday for protection.

His lawyer, Aliyu Umar, on his behalf sought the protection of the court against the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, and the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS).
Upon granting the request, the judge reassigned the case to court 30 for hearing of motion on notice.
He adjourned the case till May 6.
