Barcelona’s star, Lionel Messi will miss next weekend’s El Clasico against Real Madrid as a result of a broken arm.

The all-time record goal scorer fell awkwardly on his right arm in the 17th minute of the La Liga match against Sevilla at the Camp Nou on Saturday, October 20, 2018, and was in serious visible pain leading to his being substituted.

The statement reads:

Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm. He will be out for approximately three weeks.”

The three-week injury assessment means that Messi will miss the club’s next five games but will likely return in time for the club’s clash with Atletico Madrid at the end of November, which follows an international break.
