Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State of Nigeria shares something in common with Texas of the United States! Of course, not the beautiful layout of the U.S state; not also the overwhelming air of modernisation cutting across the lifestyle of its people. Guess what. It shares the horrifying state of being swept under the waters with the U.S. state.
Southeastern Texas, is at present under the devastating arm of Hurricane Harvey. It is a catastrophic situation which has left many dead and countless homeless.
Sharing the same fate with the US state is Nigeria’s city of Makurdi. Thousands of people have been sacked from their different homes, following flooding. The sights are so gory that one feels so sorry. Suffice to say: Like Texas, like Makurdi.
