Late Abubakar Audu's Son Declares for Kogi Governorship Election

A son of the former Kogi state governor, late Abubakar Audu, has formally announced his intention to contest in the state’s governorship election scheduled for later this year.

Mustapha Audu publicly declared his intention in Lokoja, Kogi state’s capital on Wednesday, March 27.

Mustapha who noted that he was in the race to bring revolution in Kogi said he would be contesting on the platform of Young Progressives Party (YPP).

He also promised to salvage the state from suffering, hunger, poverty, non-payment of salaries, hardship-induced suicides and deaths.

According to him, he would build on the good legacies of good governance and development established by his late father if elected as governor.

He therefore urged the youths to join hands with him to make the dream a reality, adding that Kogi would move on to greater heights if he became governor.

The election is scheduled for November this year.
