Mr. Femi Otedola, chairman of Forte Oil, has agreed to run for the governorship post of Lagos State in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This was made known by Mr. Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation International Magazine.
In a tweet, Momodu said Otedola personally confirmed to him, his acceptance of the offer to by PDP.
Momodu’s tweet reads: “Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He’s accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper.”

News of Otedola’s decision to run came few hours after incumbent governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, purchased his nomination form on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday to seek re-election.
Also, Jide Sanwoolu, a former special adviser to former Governor of Lagos State, and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has joined the governorship race in Lagos State.
He is contesting on the platform of the APC.
Sanwoolu is believed in some quarters to be Tinubu’s preferred aspirant in the contest for the governorship post in the state.
