Former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, will be given a state burial on September 13, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has said.
The president made this known on Friday after a meeting with Annan’s family in Accra, Ghana.
He said that Annan would be buried in Accra’s new military cemetery.

“Kofi Annan was one of the most illustrious people of this generation. He was like an elderly brother…
“It’s (the burial) going to be a major event for our country… I expect many leaders to be present,” the president said.
Annan died on Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Switzerland.
