Kidnapping: Woman delivered of baby after rescue

A pregnant woman was on Sunday delivered of a baby boy shortly after he was rescued from kidnappers.

The woman was rescued in Badagry area of Lagos State.

The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Bisi Kazeem, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday.

Said he:  “At about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday February 25, 2018, a team from the Badagry Unit of FRSC led by Assistant Route Commander, Peace Danboyi, accosted a vehicle with registration number KTU 356 CE at AP Filling station before Aradagun Bus Stop in Badagry, Lagos.

“In the vehicle were two suspected kidnappers (male) and a pregnant woman who was their victim.

“The pregnant woman, who had body injuries, was rescued to Ola-Oki Hospital, Ibereko, where she immediately gave birth to a baby boy.’’

Kazeem explained that following the discovery of the kidnapping incidence, attempts were made by a mob to attack the suspects.

They were however saved from the mob by some soldiers who were around.

The soldiers arrested the suspects and handed them over to the police in Badagry.

Following the rescue, the Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has praised the officers for their efforts.

 Oyeyemi gave the assurance that his men would always be on the roads to ensure safe traffic.

He said they would also cooperate with other agencies to ensure adequate security of lives and property.
