Kevin Hart reportedly faces weeks of physical rehab following a car crash in which the actor’s vintage Plymouth Barracuda was almost completely destroyed.
The 40-year-old funnyman is said to be on the mend after he underwent back surgery on Sunday night.
However he is not out of the woods yet and will require weeks of physical therapy, sources close to Kevin told TMZ.
The actor’s wife Eniko Hart confirmed Kevin was doing well, saying he was ‘going to be just fine’ in video obtained by DailyMail. com
His back surgery was declared ‘a complete success’ by sources for The Blast.
Hart’s vintage car veered off the road over the weekend and plummeted into a ditch, leaving the comedian with major back injuries.
The comedian was left hospitalised following the horror crash in the early hours of Sunday morning in the hills of Malibu.
Hart was the passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda with his wife’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman, 31, and her fiancé Jared Black, 28.
Black, who was driving, lost control of the car as it veered off the road and down a hill off of Mulholland Highway around 1am.
Black and Broxterman, an Instagram fitness model, were trapped inside.
‘Hart and Black sustained major back injuries as a result of this collision and were transported and treated at nearby hospitals,’ Highway Patrol said in a report.
Broxterman sustained no injuries and Black was not under the influence.
His car careened down an embankment roughly ’10 feet off the road’ and smashed into a wooden fence, crushing the roof on impact.
Witnesses revealed that a member of Kevin’s security team ‘showed up in an SUV and picked him up’.
Photos from the scene of the collision were equally as horrific, showing the car wrecked.
The top of the classic ride was completely gone with a smashed windshield on top of a missing hood.
Most of the body of the vehicle was still intact despite major dents on the trunk and side doors.
The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star reportedly lives nearby and ‘went home to get medical attention’ after the crash.
Earlier on Saturday, Kevin took the bright blue car out for a ride and spun out his tires for a quick video shared to Instagram.
He purchased the car earlier this year as the ultimate birthday gift to celebrate his 40th birthday.
The Philadelphia native is currently recovering in a Los Angeles hospital, where doctors have optimism he can fully recover, as he didn’t suffer a spinal cord injury.
