JUST IN: Court grants Jonah Jang bail

Former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has been granted bail by a High Court in Jos, Plateau State.

Jang is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged financial malpractices to the tune of N6.3 billion.

The alleged crime was said to have been committed during his tenure as the governor of the state.

His bail condition required two sureties in the sum of N100 million each.

One of the sureties, the court directed, must be a first class traditional ruler within the jurisdiction.

Jang was also ordered to deposit his international passport with the court.

The former governor has been in detention for about a week before he was granted bail.
