The member representing Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constitutency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, may be in for a fresh problem in the National Assembly.
This follows the decision to investigate him over the statement he made on the resolution by the Legislature on Tuesday during the emergency joint session held between members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The Legislature had among other things, warned the Executive arm of government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari to solve the state of insecurity in the country, desist from harassing lawmakers and other political actors holding different opinions from its own.
The Legislature said failure of the Executive arm of government to comply would lead to the invoking of its constitutional power.
Shortly after the joint session, Jibrin, who spoke to the press said the decision was largely those of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the legislative houses and not endorsed by all.
Jibrin spoke on behalf of the parliamentary support group known to be in support of President Buhari.
However, on Wednesday, the issue of his statement was raised at plenary.

According to a legislator who drew the attention of the House to the issue, Sunday Karimi from Kogi State, “there is need for him (Jibrin) to be called to order because he is trying to turn the chambers upside down.”
He accused Jibrin of not saying the truth about what transpired to the press.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said it would be wrong for any of the legislators to misrepresent the Legislature.
He therefore referred the matter to the Ethics and Privileges Committee for investigation.
Jibrin is likely to be suspended if found guilty.
It would be recalled that he was suspended over the alarm he raised on alleged 2016 budget padding against some members of the leadership in the House.
A court recently declared his suspension illegal and ordered that his allowances for the period he was suspended be paid back to him.
