Investigation has commenced into the killing of two policemen by some gunmen who invaded a police station in Kogi State on Tuesday.
This was made known by the spokesman of Kogi State Police Command, ASP William Aya, when he spoke with journalists.
According to him, the two policemen were on duty when the gunmen invaded the police station at Gegu Village on Lokoja-Abuja Road and shot them.
A suspect who was in the cell at the police station was also injured, he said.

The incident happened at about 2.15 a.m.
Aya said the corpses of the policemen had been deposited at the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
The suspect who was injured was said to be receiving treatment at the same hospital.
It was gathered that the gunmen, about five of them, came on motorcycles.
Upon getting to the police station they opened fire killing two of the policemen on duty and injuring the suspect in the cell.
The incident, it was gathered led to gridlock on the Lokoja-Abuja Road on Tuesday.
