President Muhammadu Buhari said on Friday that he found the rising incidences of rape in the country very upsetting.
Speaking in a nationwide broadcast to mark this year’s Democracy Day celebrations, Buhari said he was particularly upset about the rape of young girls.

He, however, assured women and girls of his government’s commitment to ensuring their safety even as he directed the Nigeria Police to fish out perpetrators of such heinous acts and bring them to book.
Buhari also urged women not to take laws into their hands in efforts to fight the menace of rape.
