The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two policemen and one Expatriate by unknown gunmen in Ukum local government area of Benue State.

The police also stated that the gunmen also kidnapped two other expatriates.

The Next Edition gathered that early hours of Wednesday, unknown gunmen killed some policemen and many others and also kidnapped two Chinese Engineers between Shitile/Ukum settlements in Sankara axis.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Madaki, confirmed the attack on Symmetry Trading Company Limited in Benue.

CP Madaki in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, said the police and the expatriate lost their lives in an ambulance by the hoodlums.

“On 7th April, 2021 at about 0730hrs a distress call was received from Police officers posted to escort Expatriates from the above named company in Ukum Local Government Area that, they came under an attack of gunmen who laid ambush at the site under construction before their arrival.

He said “during an exchange of fire with the gunmen, two policemen and one of the expatriate lost their lives while two of the expatriates were kidnapped.

He said more police officers have been deployed to the area for trail of the hoodlums and rescue of the kidnapped victims.
