Technology giant, Google, has celebrated the life and times of Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh who lost her life during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.

Google has honoured her for her bravery in curbing the spread of the Ebola virus by placing patient Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American Diplomat, in quarantine despite pressure from the Liberian government.

She was confirmed dead on August 19, 2014, after she single-handedly prevented Mr. Sawyer who brought the Ebola case to Nigeria, from leaving the hospital and spreading the disease further while on admission.

Google in celebrating her with doodles today on her birthday says: “Celebrating Nigerian physician, Dr. Stella Adadevoh, whose expertise and bravery helped curb the spread of Ebola across Nigeria.”

A google doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google’s homepage that commemorates, holidays, events, achievements and people.

Google Doodles has decided to honour her today on what would have been her 62nd birthday.
