The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, has advised motorists to exercise patience along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to reduce traffic gridlock on the road.
Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, gave the advice while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota, Ogun.
Umar identified impatience as one of the sources of chaos as drivers resolved to drive against one-way on the highway.
He explained that both sides of the road were blocked and it’s narrow due to the ongoing construction works that has led to slow movement of vehicles.
“Instead of motorists to be patience, they drive against the traffic, whereby, causing serious chaos.
“The FRSC is appealing to motorists to desist from exhibiting impatience by driving against traffic and causing route violation”.

Umar said the FRSC is collaborating with the Nigeria Police, Nigerian army and other sister agencies to checkmate route violations.
He further said that anybody who commits route violation would be arrested and sanctioned.
Umar called on the revenues collectors from Local government to suspend their activities until the road is completed.
He said the activities of the revenue collector was part of the reason for traffic gridlock when they stop trucks and other articulated vehicles to demand for money. (NAN)
