No fewer than ten people were killed in a fresh attack on some Kogi communities by some gunmen.
The traditional ruler of Okenwo Agbenema-Ife, Chief Musa Edibo, and his wife were killed and their houses razed in the violence.
The affected villages are in Agbenema, Ajichekpa and Iyade in Omala local government area in the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State.
Said to be armed with sophisticated weapons, the gunmen launched the attack from the bush.
According to reports, six persons were killed at Iyade Village and two others were killed at Ajichepa Village.

Several houses were reported to be burnt down by the gunmen including that of a former vice chairman of Omala local government area, Adofu Stephen.
The attack has left the communities deserted.
The soldiers, according to some of the people of the villages, did not come to their rescue during the attack.
