Former Super Falcons midfielder, Ajuma Ameh-Otache dies at 33

One of Nigeria’s most successful and history making women, Ajuma Ameh-Otache, has died aged of 33.

Ameh-Otache played for Nigeria at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and also won the African Women’s Cup of Nations that same year.

Ameh-Otache reportedly died on Saturday, November 10, 2018 after a prolonged battle with a rare muscular disease which reoccurred during her national assignment with the U17 women’s team.

The former Pelican Stars player made history last year when she became the first female manager to coach a Male team. She was in charge of Goodland Rangers Football Club of Lagos and made headlines as a successful female coach in charge of a male side.

Ameh-Otache is survived by her husband, Peter Otache and three children.
