The former President of Aka Ikenga, a pan Igbo organisation, Goddy Uwazuruike, has accused the federal government of unnecessarily shielding the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Professor Usman Yusuf, from facing disciplinary action over alleged misconduct.
In his words, “It is now I understand the statement by Senator Shehu Sani sometime ago that the present government under President Muhammadu Buhari is using insecticides to treat cases of those that do not belong to the cabal while those within the fold are being treated with air freshener.”

Speaking exclusively to the Next Edition, Uwazuruike stated that it was wrong for any executive officer of government agencies and parastatals to claim that he does not take instruction from the board of such institution.
“It is unfortunate that we are seeing a lot of strange things under the present administration because the President has surrounded himself with his kinsmen who are not ready to obey the rule.”
He commended the initiative of the National Assembly to set up a committee on the matter and urged them to objectively look into the matter.
