FG Extends Airport Closure By 14 Days

The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended the closure of airports in the country by 14 days due to the continuous spread of coronavirus pandemic.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who made this on Monday said that the country’s airspace will not be reopened by April 23, as earlier planned.

“As a result of the extension on lockdown by Mr. President, it is no longer possible for us to open our airspace and airports for normal operations by the 23rd April, 2020.

“They will remain closed for a further 2 weeks. This is subject to review as appropriate,” he said.
