The Federal Government has suspended mining activities in Zamfara warning foreign miners to vacate mining sites in the State and its environs.
The order, which is with immediate effect, is aimed at curtailing the activities of the armed bandits in the state.
Briefing State House correspondents at the presidential villa Abuja, the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, said that any foreign miner caught going against the order would have his license revoked.

In attendance at the briefing were; Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; Director General, Department of State Services, DSS; Yusuf Bichi and Director General National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ahmed Abubakar.
Adamu said that there was a nexus between activities of the bandits and illicit miners, adding that a combined team of security forces will be now dispatched to the area to take.
