A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Akwa Ibom State, Senator John Udoedehe, has said the governorship candidate of the party, Nsima Ekere will restore the lost glory of Uyo Local Government Area.
Speaking at the APC campaign rally held at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Iboko Offot, Udoedehe, a former Council Chairman of Uyo and former Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, FCT, noted that Ekere was versed in governance and would bring his experience to bear in developing the local government.
He said: “Vote Nsima Ekere for the good of Uyo. He knows the basis of governance. He has demonstrated his love for Uyo in Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. Uyo must reclaim its lost glory, our glory days must be back. Take my words, Obong Nsima Ekere will not disappoint Uyo as Governor.”
According to Udoedehe, apart from improving the lot of Uyo people through creation of industries, an APC government will also boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the area through the restoration of license to the Local Government Council to manage motor parks and motorists’ levies.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Iniobong John, Chairman of the APC National Youth Caucus in the State, noted that Uyo will reward the party’s governorship candidate “for the good works he did in Uyo LGA while serving as Managing Director of NDDC.”
Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio said the incumbent administration has failed and that it was time for Ekere to take over.
Represented by his wife, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, he expressed confidence that “APC will make Uyo smile again.“
