A suspended Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Edo, Mr Kassim Afegbua, has reiterated his “unequivocal and unflinching” support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sept. 19 governorship election in the state, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Afegbua stated this on Monday in Benin while reacting to his purported suspension by the PDP on Sunday.

According to him, his alleged suspension from the PDP did not in any way affect his vote.

He pledged to mobilise support and votes for Ize-Iyamu in the forthcoming election.

His words: “I remain unequivocal and unflinching about my support for Ize-Iyamu.

“I will ensure that I mobilise enough votes for him in the four wards of Okpella.

“Having earlier described me as inconsequential, I am wondering why they (PDP) now suddenly remember that I am relevant to warrant my suspension.

“I am actually waiting for their expulsion in good time. My votes cannot be suspended or expelled. My thumb is my power.”

Recall that the PDP, had, on Sunday announced Afegbua’s immediate suspension for a period of one month over alleged anti-party activities.

The state Chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, had directed the local government chairman to set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations of anti-party activities levelled against him.
