Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, has warned Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and Chief Emeka Ihedioha, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Imo State, to stop an alleged plot to impose a candidate in the party’s coming presidential primaries.
Kalu, chairman of Stercoll Group, in a statement on Wednesday, in reaction to reports alleging that Ihedioha and Wike were planning to impose someone not a unanimous choice on the party, said it was appalling that the duo would contemplate to force Nigerians to accept their choice.
He maintained that if through their manipulations, the PDP ended up with an unpopular candidate and eventually lost the election to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), none should attempt to run away from the country, when things would get tougher for the political class.

Kalu said: “It saddens me to learn that two noble gentlemen I respect so much in our great party are planning to influence the coming presidential primaries in favour of their own candidate. If it is true, then not only is this sad, but a dangerous trend that will de-market the PDP and cost us the coming presidential election.
“Governor Nyesom Wike and Chief Emeka Ihedioha must rethink and do the needful now. They obviously are on a suicide mission and if they impose this calamity on our party, Muhammadu Buhari will chase them out of Nigeria. Posterity will judge anyone who puts Nigerians in harm’s way for his own selfish or ulterior gains.
“Ihedioha should not forget in a hurry too how he was made by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. They must allow the primaries to hold and whoever emerges should run as the party’s presidential candidate. Don’t forget that all Nigerians are looking up to PDP at this point and it will be suicidal if we fail them.”
