
The Delta Police Command said it has arrested one of its men, who was videoed harassing a student for owning an iPhone.
The arrest of the officer was revealed in a statement issued by the Command on its verified Twitter handle.
The officer is said to be sergeant.
“The commissioner of Police Delta State Command has confirmed that the police SGT reported to have harassed and embarrassed an innocent student is now in police custody.
“Also, orderly trial has commenced and the preceding will bring out appropriate disciplinary action on him.

“The Force wishes to state that such behavioural pattern is not a true reflection of Nigeria Police Force especially under the leadership of Inspector General of police, Ag. IGP MA Adamu,” the statement said.
A police sergeant attached to the Police Mobile Force was caught on video beating up a student of Delta State University for owning a N200,000 Apple iPhone.
He was said to have been angry with the student because according to him, in his over 14 years as a police officer, he had never bought a phone worth more than N15, 000.
