Five hundred and nineteen persons who have fully recovered from the Coronavirus infection have been discharged from various treatment centres in the country.
Their discharge is coming on the same day as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 501 more cases of the virus infection and three deaths across the nation.
The new cases confirmed on Sunday, December 20, were reported from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Disclosing this on its website on Sunday, NCDC said: “On the 20th of December 2020, 501 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 78434 cases have been confirmed, 68303 cases have been discharged and 1221 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 501 new cases are reported from 15 states- Lagos (218), FCT (112), Kaduna (53), Plateau (24), Katsina (21), Kano (16), Yobe (14), Ondo (10), Ogun (9), Edo (7), Bayelsa (5), Rivers (4), Borno (4), Osun (2), and Ekiti (2).”
The health agency said the discharged cases included 208 community recoveries in FCT, 126 in Kaduna State and 35 in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
