The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said there was an error in the update it released on Thursday night.
The centre had in its last update of the day said 14 new cases had been confirmed with 12 cases in Lagos and 2 in the FCT.
However, in another tweet titled “CORRECTION,” the centre said it noticed an error in the earlier update.
According to the centre, while 12 cases were recorded in Lagos, 1 case was recorded in the FCT and Bauchi respectively.

The tweet read: “We noticed an error in our update at 8:35pm. It should be:
“14 new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in FCT, 1 IN BAUCHI & 12 in Lagos .
“Of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers & 2 are close contacts of confirmed cases.”
Recall that Bauchi State on Thursday announced the confirmation of another case of the virus.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, announced the development during a press conference saying the new case was a 62-year-old man.
