The Lagos State Government on Saturday discharged 55 COVID-19 patients who had been certified free of the virus.
The patients comprising 16 females and 39 males also included 16 foreigners.
The state ministry of Health which made the development known on its Twitter handle said the patients were discharged from eight treatment centres.
“Today, 55 fully recovered #COVID19Lagos patients; 16 females & 39 males including 16 foreign nationals were discharged from our Isolation facilities to reunite with the society.

“The patients; 14 from Onikan, 5 from Gbagada, 5 from Mainland Hospital, Yaba, 8 from Agidingbi, 6 from Lekki, 4 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), 4 from First Cardiology & 9 from @LUTHofficial Isolation Centres were discharged after testing negative to #COVID19.
“With this, the number of #COVID19 cases successfully managed & discharged in Lagos has risen to 1419,” the tweet read.
While adding that “COVID19 is real,” the tweet further enjoined Lagosians; “Let’s continue to adhere strictly to #PhysicalDistancing & #handhygiene principles #ForACOVID19FreeLagos.”
