A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State, Mr. Lanre Razak, has said that efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to contain the dreaded Coronavirus deserve commendations and support of the citizenry.
Razak, a member of the Lagos Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), praised the federal and Lagos State governments over the way they had handled the issue of the pandemic.
The elder statesman, while speaking with select journalists in Lagos on Saturday, said the steps already taken and still being taken were indications that Nigeria was blessed with responsible and responsive administrators with the proverbial Midas touch to address the people’s needs effectively.
According to him, the setting up of a committee comprising highly competent professionals by President Buhari to handle the issue concerning the disease has given the populace confidence that they are in safe hands.
While giving kudos to the Federal Government’s method of easing the five-week lockdown, which was already causing untold hardship on the people, Razak explained that the strategy has allowed for saving the national economy and personal financial survival of all Nigerians.

He commended Sanwo-Olu for his relentless efforts at preventing further spread of the virus in the state and by extension to the hinterland.
“Since what happens to Lagos would eventually affect the whole country because of the state’s strategic location as the major entry point to the country, Sanwo-Olu and his team of competent professionals deserve kudos for a job being well done,” he said.
Speaking further, he expressed excitement over the recently commissioned 118-bed space Isolation Centre at Gbagada General Hospital, describing it as another step towards the right direction, and “a testimony that Sanwo-Olu is a sent Messiah to the good people of Lagos State.”
He, therefore, urged the people to reciprocate the governments’ good gestures by giving them the required supports for them to succeed in their efforts at keeping us safe and well.
“While utilising the telephone lines of designated centres in the event any suspected victim is sighted within our vicinity, we should also observe all the preventive measures put on ground by the authorities like wearing of face cover, observing social distancing and observing high level of hygienic conducts,” Razak cautioned.
