The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed eight more cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The NCDC announced the new cases on Sunday night on its Twitter handle.

The centre had earlier on Sunday confirmed six cases bringing the total number of cases confirmed on Sunday to 14.

The tweet read: “Eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 5 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT and 1 in Kaduna State .
