The court said the former vice chancellor would be in detention till July 19 when the case would be heard.

It would be recalled that Elujoba is standing trial alongside the bursar of the school, Josephine Akeredolu over alleged corrupt practices involving N1.4 billion while in office.

Displeased with his trial, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU of the OAU declared Monday andTuesday lecture-free days in solidarity with the Elujoba.

Meanwhile, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, is reported to have sealed off the court in protest of the judgement.

The workers insisted that Elujoba should rather be left in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and not prison.
