A man, Adeniyi Stephen, his wife, Adetola Adeyinka, and one Ojo Sulaimon have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command while trying to steal diesel from the mast of a telecommunication firm, Globacom.
The trio were reportedly arrested on Wednesday in the Agosasa area of the Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.
They allegedly stole 32,651 litres of diesel valued at N8,162,750m.
Their arrest followed a complaint lodged at the Ipokia division by one Joseph Ekanem, who told the police that some people had been coming with a car marked, BNS 261 AAA, to steal diesel from the mast in Agosasa.

Disclosing this in a statement on Thursday, the Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: “The DPO of the Ipokia division, SP Adebayo Akeem, immediately detailed his men to launch an investigation into the case with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
“The investigation led to the impounding of the vehicle which subsequently led to the arrest of the three suspects.
“They confessed to the crime. They also confessed to have stolen 32,651 litres of diesel valued at N8,162,750m.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Adeniyi Stephen is a staff member of the company and the mastermind of the operation.”
Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has directed that the suspects be charged to court as soon as the investigation was over.
