From results so far announced from the national collation centre in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has won seven states of the federation while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has four states and the FCT in his kitty.
The results were announced by the returning officers of the states.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Monday began the announcement of the results of last Saturday’s presidential election and at the close of business, eleven states and the Federal Capital Territory had been announced.
The states are Ekiti, Osun, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, Gombe, Ondo, Yobe, Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu.
The presidential candidate of the APC and incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, won in Ekiti, Osun, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi Gombe and Yobe, while Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, was victorious in the FCT, Ondo, Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu.
In Ekiti, Buhari polled 219, 231 while Atiku got 154, 032. In Osun, Buhari garnered 347, 634 while Atiku got 337, 377. In Kwara, the APC candidate scored 308, 984 as against PDP’s 138, 184. In Nasarawa, it was APC 289, 903 and PDP 283, 847.
Other results are as follows; in Kogi, Buhari got 285, 894 while Atiku received 218, 207. In Gombe, Buhari received 402, 961 votes while Atiku got 138, 484 and in Yobe, it was 497, 914 for Buhari and 50, 763 for Atiku.

In the states that stood behind the PDP, the results are as follows; in the FCT, Atiku got 259, 997 against Buhari’s 152, 224. In Ondo, it was Atiku 275, 901 and Buhari 241, 769. In Abia, Atiku received 219, 698 votes while Buhari got 85, 058. In Ebonyi, Atiku got 258, 573 while Buhari got 90, 726 and in Enugu, it was Atiku 355, 553 and Buhari 54, 423.
In all, the APC candidate has a total of 2, 976, 721 while the PDP candidate has 2, 415, 891.
According to the INEC Chairman, collation and announcement of results will continue by 10a.m today, Tuesday, February 26.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the results as announced by INEC.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, accused INEC of doctoring some of the results and assured Nigerians that the party would release the true results as time goes by.
The party has also convened a meeting of its legal minds for later today.
