A Christian from Gombe State, Adamu was the Director of Human Resources at the CBN.

His appointment is still subject to the approval of the Senate.

It is, however, not known whether his appointment will be confirmed by the Senate following the hostility between the Senate and the Presidency over Buhari’s refusal to remove Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

It would be noted that as a result of the hostility, Senate had refused to confirm some appointments including that of Aishah Ahmed as a deputy governor of the bank.

Adamu, 57 years, was born in Kaltungo local government area of Gombe State and joined the CBN in June 1992.
