Presidential aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, on Monday told the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo he should create his own country if he didn’t like the laws of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Onochie’s comment was in reaction to Oyedepo’s position that the Church was neither a club nor a company where the minister can remove a board trustee or shut the accounts of the church.

Under the new CAMA law signed on August 7 by President Buhari, religious bodies (churches and mosques) as well as charity organisations, will be strictly regulated by the Registrar-General of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a supervising minister.

Speaking on Sunday Oyedepo stated that the church was directly connected to God and therefore did not operate under the rules of men.

He therefore rejected the newly amended Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).

In her own reaction on her verified Twitter handle on Monday, Onochie observed that as long as Oyedepo lives and operates in Nigeria, he must abide by her rules and laws.

She wrotes: “I hope this is not true.
If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws.

As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he’s told by the law?

Enough of lawlessness
