President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Akinfenwa family over the passing of Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa.
Senator Akinfenwa was a former factional national chairman of Alliance for Democracy. He also represented Osun East constituency in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2003.
He died on Thursday at the age of 88.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the President also extended his sympathies to the government and people of Osun State on the death of the elder statesman.
In his condolence message, Buhari described the late Akinfenwa as a man who dedicated his life to the service of others and worked tirelessly to promote unity and cooperation among Nigerians of different walks of life.
The President prayed God to comfort all who mourn the late senator and grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
Late Akinfenwa was a professional teacher, labour activist, politician and community leader.
