According to the letter, the tenure of Abubakar’s appointment should be in line with the provisions of the Company and Allied Matters Act.

Abubakar replaces the former Registrar-General, Azuka Azinge who was ordered by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to step down following her arraignment before the tribunal on December 23.

She was charged with 11-counts bordering on false declaration of assets and receiving allowances she was not entitled to as an Acting Registrar-General of CAC.

Until his appointment, Mr. Abubakar was the Director, Compliance at the commission.
