BREAKING: Taraba Killing: DHQ panel Recommends Sanctions For Army Officer, Others

The Board of Inquiry set up by the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, to investigate the circumstances leading to the killing of three policemen and one civilian in Ibi, Taraba State, on August 6, has recommended that five personnel of the Nigerian Army be sanctioned over the issue.

The Board of inquiry was put together at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari.

A press release issued by the DHQ on Tuesday named the officers to face disciplinary sanctions; Captain Tijani Balarabe, Sergeant Ibrahim Mohammed, Corporal Bartholomew Obanye of the Ibi Police Division, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Aondoona Iorbee, and Inspector Aliyu Dadje.

According to panel, the officers must be taken through “necessary disciplinary measures.”
Furthermore, the panel recommended that investigations be conducted on Hamisu Bala, the Taraba Kidnap kingpin, for gun running.
