Super Eagles qualify for final after beating South Africa’s Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes of play in the 2023 AFCON semi-finals in Bouake, Côte d’Ivoire.
The Eagles took the lead after skipper William Troost Ekong converted the penalty won by striker Victor Osimhen.
South Africa star player Mokoena equalised in the 90th minute sending the game to extra time, the extra time ended in stalemate and the game advanced to penalties.
Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties, while Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning penalty to send the Eagles to the final.
