Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has been re-elected for a second term of four years.
He narrowly defeated his main challenger, Ahmed Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with 341 votes.

Though he lost in the collated results for 35 polling units in Kebbe LGA, he was still able to defeat his former deputy to retain his office.
He polled 512, 002 votes, while his APC opponent got 511, 661 votes.
