Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, otherwise known as Shiites, on Monday clashed with the officers of the Nigerian Police during a protest in Abuja.
The protesters are calling for the release of their leader El-Zakzaki, who has been in detention since 2015.
The protest is coming few days after a warning from the Federal Government for them to desist from violent street protests and await the outcome of the trial of their leader.
El-Zakzaki if facing trial before a Kaduna High court for culpable homicide and breach of peace among others.
