A former lawmaker, Senator Buruji Kashamu, is dead.
He died at First Cardiology Consultants, Lagos, on Saturday due to complications arising from COVID-19.
Kashamu represented Ogun-East senatorial district from 2015 to 2019.
Former Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce who confirmed his death on Twitter, prayed God to grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said Kashamu would be sorely missed.

The tweet read: “I have just lost my good friend of forever to COVID-19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”
It was gathered that Late Kashamu suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes.
Other prominent Nigerians who have succumbed to COVID-19 at First Cardiology, include former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi and President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
Kashamu, it was gathered spent over a week at the hospital before he died on Saturday.
