Daredevil robbers have just attacked Zenith Bank in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, and cart away undisclosed sums of money from a customer.

Our correspondent said the incident occurred at about 3.pm, Wednesday at the ever-busy Oron Road.

According to witnesses, the robbers trailed a customer to the bank and waited for him to draw a large amount of cash.

While still inside the bank, the robbers allegedly deflated the tyre of the customer’s car to stop him from driving away to safety.

“As the man came out of the banking hall and dropped the bag of cash in the boot of his car and attempted to drive away, the robbers confronted,” one of the witnesses told our correspondent.

“They ordered him to come out and open his boot and when he did, they took the bag of money and drove away shooting sporadically to scare away people.”
