Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State have taken to the streets to protest the scheduled local government area (LGA) elections billed to take place Saturday, October 5, 2024.

According to reports, the protesters who defied the Thursday morning heavy rain are said to be led by the party’s Chairman, Chukwuemeka Aaron.

The demonstration began at the PDP Secretariat on the Port Harcourt-Aba expressway and proceeded to the Police Headquarters on Moscow Road.

The stakeholders, who displayed various placards, converged on the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt and marched along the Azikiwe Road towards the Government House.

It was gathered that security patrols vans were deployed to monitor the protest.
