BREAKING: INEC Declares APC Winner Of Bayelsa Governorship Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. David Lyon, has emerged winner of the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

He polled a total of 352,552 votes to beat his main opponent and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mr. Duoye Diri, who garnered 143,172 votes.

The final result was announced early Monday morning by the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Faraday Orunmuwese.

The APC won in six local government areas of the state while PDP won in two.
